The MM team have been in York for the past week completing a Milepave™ Scheme on behalf of York City Council. The programme included resurfacing 10 residential estate roads across the city. Our Ashpalt Grouted Macadam, Milepave™ was installed over approximately 9,600m² throughout these 10 locations. Milepave™ offers the client an opportunity to resurface and reprofile with a high strength material that is sealed fully against water ingress and has inherent flexibility to combat underlying movement. Interestingly, Lockwood Street was a restricted vehicle access area resulting in the MM team having to manually spread the Mileseal for 530m². There was a total of 8 team members (including the Contract Manager and Site Foreman) involved in the works and the duration of this activity took 10 days. Working hours for each site were 8am until 4pm daily. Due to the location of each of the sites, all works were carried out under Road Closures keeping access to residents wherever possible. Wains Road, Brambledene and Windermere closures were phased in order to minimise disruption to residents.
